Bush is sending Under Secretary of State William Burns, third in line at the State Department, to talks this weekend aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He is traveling to Geneva with the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, to talk to Iran’s main nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili. The move is reportedly fully supported by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

The initiative includes plans by the US to post diplomats in Tehran for the first time since the revolution in the form of a US Interests Section - a move halfway to setting up an embassy, subject to approval by Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad. Iran already has such a section based in Washington.

An agent provocateur could still cause damage by doing something horrendous and then publicly claiming membership, thus giving ammunition to a hostile media. Freedom Force might last as long as the John Birch Society, or it might get trampled. However, their policy toward agents provocateurs seems foolhardy to me.

2. Join the Pirates
3. Jump Ship
4. Hide
5. Write Letters of Protest and Petitions to the Pirates Asking Them to be Nice
6. Take the Pirates to a Pirate-Controlled Court With an Expensive Lawyer
7. Organize a Counter-Coup to Recapture the Ship the same way the pirates did
a. Get organized in groups of people, supposedly with a squaring effect on power
b. International Unity and cooperation without surrender of national loyalty and sovereignty
c. deploy activists who devote a significant chunk of their lives
d. enact a training program to familiarize countercoup members versus enemy tactics
e. make a group structure that cannot be subverted (that’s pretty tough!)
i. avoid hierarchies that can be decapitated
ii. avoid flash in the pan
iii. avoid being demonized/slandered
iv. avoid getting bought out

etc.
In short, Griffin has a dues-paying base of members who support his notion that there must be a counter-Gramscian “march through the institutions.”

I am not a paying supporter, but that’s mostly because I doubt that anyone can be trusted, including Griffin. However, he does have some impressive names on his roster and this will warrant watching. I’m surprised his organization has existed for more than five years without attracting more publicity.

The first problem with that self-righteous bull is that Jefferson never said it. On the contrary, he warned of the dangers of political dissension carried to extremes.

Dissent can be patriotic - it’s essential to have an ongoing public debate about the major issues confronting us. But that dissent must be based on facts, not sloppy emotions.

Instead, we get dissent worn as a fashion statement. And fanatic dissent (as Jefferson noted) is the enemy of a democratic system.

People trying to lay patriotic guilt trips almost always say, “You have a chance if you act immediately, but if you lose this chance, the sky will fall!”

Some reformers ignore the chance to try for change within the system, other reformers grab it.

It makes no difference. Reformers have tried to clean up the system by every legal means for years. The traitors in office are willing to break many laws and spend a great deal of blood-money to stay in power. The reformers don’t stand a chance. I’ve been watching them fail for year after year.

Protest is just a form of theater that the puppeteers allow as a distraction. Every so often they might have to swap out a puppet. Nothing of import gets fixed.

I have been writing about vote fraud since 1993 when I ran for Congress the first time. You see, I had read a book titled, Vote Scam: The Stealing of America, and the light bulb went on about incumbents getting “reelected” for decades - incumbents the voters wanted gone. How could these buzzards continue to “win” elections when the electorate didn’t want them? Vote Scam pinned it down for me. I realized our elections had been stolen from the late 1960s.
